OKBA Trade Show

Toronto, Ontario (October 16, 2009)

On October 15 we attended the 2009 OKBA (Ontario Korean Businessmen’s Association ) tradeshow at the International Centre in Toronto. With over 1500 expected attendees and 100 exhibitors, we presented our In-Store Media product, HEADSUP MEDIA™. This ILLUMINATED advertising unit attaches to the ceiling using existing lighting to illuminate two advertising panels. The HEADSUP™ unit was very well received and a large number of C-Store owners signed on showing interest in having the HEADSUP™ units installed in their stores - a sure indication of the expected success of the medium. We also had a draw for a $500 gift certificate to Golf Town…and the lucky winner was M & G!

Les Abro's Community Support

Toronto, Ontario (October 7, 2009)

In 2008 Les Abro, President & CEO of Abcon Media, joined 2800 cyclists who participated in the 2-day Princess Margaret Hospital Ride to Conquer Cancer from Toronto to Niagara Falls. Les formed “Abcon’s Angels team”, a group of 20 dedicated riders some of whom are survivors themselves or have family members or friends afflicted with this disease. Through all kinds of weather they trained diligently in order to fulfill their promise to support the Ride and raise funds to “Conquer Cancer in Our Life Time. All of the Angels finished the ride and the Angels collected over $ 90,000. Through his drive and commitment Les organized and participated with the Angels in the 2009 ride and raised over $ 75,000. Les has been encouraged by his fellow riders to organize and participate in the 2010 ride. Targeting collective funds of $ 90,000 once again. The staff at Abcon support and admire his dedication to his community and wish him all the best in the 2010 ride.
